4 липня

Happy 4th of July! I've included a ton of pictures but NON from the 4th! I didn't even take one picture! The 4th was a lot of fun. We went to Gma and Gpa Calder's house in Provo for a BBQ. It was just our family, both sets of grandparents (we were able to get Susan and Bill to join us), Jay and Anna. Lara is super sick right now. She had her gallbladder removed and got pneumonia. She's just not very healthy. I feel really badly for her. But we had a great time seeing everyone else. We just sat under the big oak tree and visited with everyone. It was a great day. Later on the 4th we hosted the Warnocks, Gardniers, Blankensteins and Bagleys at our house for a BBQ and swimming. You may not recognize all of these names, but these are the families of Jane and Gwen's friends (Kapri & Covey, Sawyer, Tori, Coco). We tried to reach out to families like the Gordons and Andrewsens for McKay but they had things going on. In the group of families that we hosted, we had vegetarian, vegan and gluten free people. That's always a little stressful BUT the food was SO delicious! It was a great time. We had other families come for swimming like Montagues, Gordons and a lot of stragglers. The fireworks just keep getting bigger and better each year! Honestly! We had a ton of people come (word is spreading) and it didn't disappoint! However, there were no roman candle fights this year...too bad. So this morning everyone is trying to shake off the 4th of July hangover. It was a very quiet morning here (because we stayed up so late cleaning up!) and there was a knock at the door. I was upstairs just starting this email and looked on the door camera to see if it was just some kids in the neighborhood. Low and behold it was JODY! Can you even imagine how excited Gwen was when I went upstairs to wake her up for her lesson. It was 9:35am....not the crack of dawn but it was rough. So we are missing Henry like crazy! I took a screenshot of instagram posts that we are seeing from his HEFY trip. In true Henry fashion, he is the center of the party! It looks like he is having a great time. My prayer is that the roots of the gospel will take root and grow deeper while he is there. I also included some pictures of Jane and her ballet camp that she was in a few weeks ago. She did the camp with Sawyer. They had a great time together. It was a "build a ballet" and the subject was Sleeping Beauty. They did all the costumes, sets, and dance. She had a lot of fun and it was great to see he actually like something I signed her up for. Maybe dance is her thing? You'll see some photos from Topher and Lyssa's wedding. We got a little update from Jay and it sounds like they are in post wedding bliss. They are actually living and Gma and Gpa Calder's for Fall and maybe winter semester. Gma and Gpa just had James and Erin living with them for 6 weeks. I guess their house is the new hotel for recently married couples. I apologize for my lack of physical letters as of late. As you know, things have been a bit crazy around here but I think I'm getting my feet under myself. I've been distracted by a project that I am working on for you and sometimes I sit down to write and I just work on the project. I love this quote I came across: ("You've had eternity to prepare for your mission and you'll have eternity to reflect on it. But you only have two years to live it.") And live it, you have! Keep it up. We love you! I am cheering you on to the finish line. Keep it up. You are doing great things and changing people's lives. Love you tons! Mom
