Not A Lot of Sleep Going on Here.....
Dear Calder....
I'm finally getting to my letter. Whoa...it's been a busy last week for me, but first....the pics:
Pic #1- the newly engaged couple. We are fans of Kylie. And Eth is such a great one. I know this process has been really difficult for Chad and Cec, but she's a keeper. I think it's just tricky to pave the path and Ethan is just a bit of a spacer and so he's really put Cecily in some awkward situations. I think hearts can be healed and hurts can be mended, but it's going to take some time to let go and give it to their Savior. They will all get there. Eth and Kylie came over for hot coco before they walked to the park. I felt so honored that we were included like that. This pic was taken when they returned. So fun. So happy. I'm excited.
Pic #2 - cute little basketball friends. Jane and Sawyer are going waaay out of their comfort zones and playing jr jazz together. I'm super proud of them - especially Jane. Going out of her comfort zone is super hard for her. She seems to have the most anxiety out of all of our kids in this situation when it comes to gymnastics, some people, primary programs, dance concerts, etc. And then there are times that she's like no big deal like when she skis. I don't know. She's complex.
Pic #3 - The end of the Lori era. This pic was taken at our last wednesday night YWs. It was a lot of fun. The torch was officially passed and I hope everyone felt good about things. I'm ready to get the ball rolling!
Pic #4 - girls lunch out on our December remote learning day. The school district has come up with 6 remote learning days each month for the rest of the year. Basically, it's a day off of school. So....we got haircuts and went to Zupas. It was great to spend the time together.
Pic #5 - Henry and his date for Christmas dance. She was cute. You already got the DL from Henry but I thought you'd like to see his date. I included a dance pic from McKay (last picture). These costumes are pretty sweet. I hope they will let me borrow...
Pic #6 & #7- Grandpa Jim's 78th birthday party at our house, We had a great time doing sealings with all the Utah spouses for my Dad's birthday. Chrsitine organized it and I fed everyone. My parents weren't feeling super well but they were troopers and we had fun celebrating one of the best men on this planet. I don't know how come I got so blessed to have Jim Calder as my dad!
Pic #8 - This was an awesome picture I came across today of Bishop. My eyes have been really opened as I serve in this new calling. We have an amazing bishop. The only way he can do what he does is because of the Lord. Seriously, it gives me a gut ache to see how much pressure he has on his shoulders! He thought he was tired in this picture but he had no idea the tsunami he would hit in Dec 2021.
Things have been busy, I haven't gotten the sleep I need but I'm doing well. Everyone has been so loving and patient. I'm just ready to hit the sack. I need to catch up on my sleep.
I love you so much. I think of all the pressure we have on your shoulders and like bishop I kow that the only way you can do what you do is because of the Lord. Isn't it amazing what happens when we turn our life over to Him.
Have a wonderful week. We love you so, so, suck your toe all the way to Mexico....MUCH! I think it's time for bed....don't you 😅
I'm signing off as I listen to Stevie Wonder "What Christmas Means to Me" - thanks for the recommendation. It will be on repeat this week and I'll shed a little tear missing you when it comes on.
Love you TONS!!! (all the way to Mexico...see above if you missed it the first time...)
Mom
PS: Favorite scripture story take away from our special stake conference.... Jacob 7: 1-5...the Sherem's of the world are trying to deceive us and make us think we don't need Jesus Christ. But Jacob had none of his flattery. Verse 5 "I could not be shaken"....love it! I want to be like Jacob. I would say something about my patriarchal blessing and how it tells me to study the words of Jacob in the Book of Mormon, but you'd probably make fun of me, so I'll just keep it to myself....haha.
