“Oh My Son, Remember…” – Letters to Calder on His Mission

I'm dying to hear about the baptism. Praying everything went ok! Also, I'm loving Bekim and his texts...just a couple gems...After I gave him the details of your homecoming he texted "Ok excellent! I am over the moon that he is coming home." I also asked him a Ukrainian question and thanked him. His response was "Always anything for Calder." Super cute. Can't wait to meet him! I'm sure you are feeling a similar mixed bag of emotions as I am. I knew you would but I didn't expect it on this end. As you know, we are so excited to see you. My heart is bursting with joy and pride at the same time. But I didn't expect to sit on the couch with Dad and cry when we hung up last week. It was so bittersweet to end the last call. Me and Dad were so disappointed because it gave us the impression that you were just over there goofing off. Well, those pictures don't even compare with the latest from Henry. Happy 4th of July! I've included a ton of pictures but NON from the 4th! I didn't even take one picture! The 4th was a lot of fun. We went to Gma and Gpa Calder's house in Provo for a BBQ. It was just our family, both sets of grandparents (we were able to get Susan and Bill to join us), Jay and Anna. Lara is super sick right now. She had her gallbladder removed and got pneumonia. She's just not very healthy. I feel really badly for her. But we had a great time seeing everyone else. We just sat under the big oak tree and visited with everyone. It was a great day. Later on the 4th we hosted the Warnocks, Gardniers, Blankensteins and Bagleys at our house for a BBQ and swimming. You may not recognize all of these names, but these are the families of Jane and Gwen's friends (Kapri & Covey, Sawyer, Tori, Coco).
