Літо :)
We are having a beautiful week here too, so I thought the subject line was very appropriate.
I've had so many people comment on your last email. Pam Roberts thinks the black and white picture of you dancing should be in the Ensign. I hope your week has been awesome. We are looking forward to talking to you tonight!!
This has been a great week. Lots of fun things to look forward to with my birthday...hint hint...don't forget it's on Saturday. This just dawned on me that maybe I'll get to talk to you again on Saturday??
Today we are going out to lunch with Hunter (just Dad and me). He recently called it quits with the cute girl he's been dating. It's really too bad. She's a gem. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story but the basic problem is she's all in and Hunter feels like it's moving too fast. We will see what happens. The bottom line is that life is easier and happier when you are living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have the spirit to lead and guide you through these decisions. I wish Hunter were more "in"...but there's this free agency thing that gets in the way sometimes.
One of my pictures includes one with James and Erin. They came over on Monday night for dinner. They are living at Gma and Gpa Calder's house for six weeks while Erin finishes up a class she is doing in person at BYU and James is working remotely. They are such a dynamic duo and it was really fun to get them all to ourselves! They also gave us AMAZING helps, tricks and tips as we worked on McKay's BYU schedule. They are coming back to help us with yours next week. Honestly, I can't imagine what their hourly rate could be if they billed us for the time ($$$) but we are so grateful for everything they taught us. We can talk more about that when we talk tonight. We have a couple of questions for you.
Another picture I have is of Paige. Christine was going to come to my house on Wednesday to help me with a project and called to say that Paige needed her help to move out of her apartment in Provo. I volunteered to help and it was a super fun - but physically exhausting - day. We worked HARD. But it was great to be able to serve Paige and let her know how much I love her. The picture in front of the blue house is where she will be living in the Fall. I love Paige. She is such a wonderful person and it was so fun to have that time with Chrisitne and Paige!
Another picture was on Mother's Day with my Mom and sisters. I'm super excited because on Friday I am hiking Squaw Peak in Provo (the mountain you can see from Gma and Gpa's living room) with Christine and Kimberly. We've never done that hike before and it will be so fun to do it with them. My sisters and I feel like we should celebrate our birthdays doing something physically active to celebrate strong bodies at our new age. It kinda leaves out people who can't, and we feel a little bad about that, but it's been so fun to ski on their birthdays and now hike on mine! Hopefully nobody feels badly.
One of the last pics is from carpool pick up with Maria, the Westwood kids and Thomas. Jane felt pretty cool to be in the convertible, even though it was freezing. Jane is doing great. She was a pill last night and was put to bed at 6:45pm but it made for a very enjoyable evening. That girl just gets so fiesty when she's hungry and tired. She had numerous warnings and just couldn't pull it together...so...it just had to be. Gwen is really looking forward to school ending. She's started up in the mtn bike team at DPMS and she's doing really well and enjoying it. I am so proud of her! Henry has been in an epic nerf war battle that has him all worked up most days and kids hiding out in our circle to ambush him other days. He's back into his basketball classes and told me that Will Burton swears like a sailor the entire class time. Not really what I would expect from kids 4-10 years old...Henry's got to get that under control. McKay's in the final stretch of his senior year. We are working to get a date for his friends to go to CCHS in cap and gown to take pics but there's all sorts of resistance. Saturday is Senior dinner dance and it should be fun. I can't believe we are doing this again. In fact, I just dropped his graduation announcements in the mail today! Graduation is one week from today.
Well, I am just about to head out on a mtn bike ride. I am looking forward to it but I MUST send this before I go because I know the day will fly by if I don't. I love you so much. Keep up the good work. Sprint to the finish. Soak it all in. Write in your journal. You are doing great things and changing lives. Too many to count.
Love you tons!
Mom
