Halloween Recap
Dear Calder,
Happy Halloween! It was a great Halloween. Lots of fun. Lots of parties. And it's over...YAY! I've included some pictures from the week...
Pic 1 = Grandma and Grandpa tonight at the annual Calder Halloween party. I made a bet that Grandpa would have some sort of facial hair glued on his face. No one bet me that he wouldn't because we all knew he would. And he didn't disappoint. It was Sunday (trick or treating on Saturday), but that guy loves to dress up. They are such awesome parents. I love every opportunity to be with them but there's never enough time. Everyone asked about you. We had the OGs - Paige, Topher (who's dating a girl seriously), and Anna. It was really fun to see them. We had a good time. It's always fun to gather.
Pic 2 = We are officially moving into the finished bedroom and bathroom. It's mostly full of boxes and things to organize, but Christine came over on Thursday to be helpful with the move in. She's such a sweet sister and I am so blessed to have her. She's always looking to serve and I want to be more like her. She was awesome when we were organizing, McKay came in and Christine was so helpful talking through McKay's BYU application. And Clark called McKay later that night and gave him pointers.
It's been a crazy, full week working on essays for the application. Dad is a rockstar and McKay has been working really hard. I hope and pray that everything will go well and he will get it done and turned in. I forgot how much work the process is.
Well, Jane loved all the festivities. She decided to be Elsa for her school party on Friday (pic 3). The rest of the time she was a Zombie Cheerleader. I had the chance to help at her class party, which was a lot of fun.
Pic 4 and 5 are of Gwen's trick or treating group. One of the girls is Olivia Springer...I don't think you know the other girls. You'll notice that one of the girls has down syndrome. Her name is Jayne. She's a sweetheart and the girls were so sweet to her. They had a great time trick-or-treating together.
Pic 6 = the classic Halloween pic on the front porch! Scout included.
pic 7 = Henry's classic basketball costume
Pic = Jane's zombie cheerleader. I personally think she liked the costume because it kind of shows her belly....she's always pushing the limits.....
pic 8 = McKay wouldn't dress up again. He actually had lots of halloween parties. He was a dentist at a murder mystery party on Saturday afternoon/evening, the classic Dwight costume for the Mtn Bike halloween dance party on Friday ngiht, and a cowboy for a big party he and Henry went to on Saturday night in Springville. Today he was just a super tired senior who was exhausted after so many hours spent on college applications. He didn't think my sign was funny, but one day he will!
Pic 9 is Ghostbuster Gwen. She had a pretty difficult day today. She had a YW class presidency meeting today where the girls opened up a lot about their stresses and worries. I was so lucky because I caught her at the end of her meeting and we were able to do a deep dive on a drive together where she opened up to me about the things that occupy her mind. Middle school is difficult. Comparison is such a terrible thing for young girls. Keep her in your prayers. She's been trying to messenger you on your pdays but I'm thinking you guys aren't getting through to each other.
Well, you're such a great support to our family. We sure miss you and we appreciate your prayers. I can't wait to talk to you tonight. Everyone at the Calder family halloween party asked about you. Everyone we stopped and talked to trick or treating asked about you too. Hunter Harris made it home from his mission. He asked all about you today. He's doing amazing! So, SO, SOOOO good to see him!
Can't wait to see you! I love you so much. Thank you for strengthening us on the home front. I absolutely LOVE our visits each week. Make it a wonderful week. We are praying for you. And your name permanently rests upon the alters in the Draper Temple.
Love you TONS!
Mom
