Newport
It was fun talking to you tonight from Newport Beach. We are missing you like crazy! But sounds like you’re doing so well and I couldn’t be happier.
Here are some pics from the week. The first few are from Dad’s favorite Draper Days Rodeo! We got a bunch of tickets and let people invite friends. That’s about the only way to get the kids there. We had Gwen’s friend Maija, Henry’s friends Daniel and Jack, Gma, Gpa and Hunter. McKay gave his ticket to Henry because he wasn’t feeling well enough to have a friend. Jane dressed up with her pink boots and hat. It was hot but an all around great rodeo. You’ve got to love Draper Days! And the pic with Gwen and Maija shows the pit vipers that Gwen just ordered. They are total knock offs but she LOVES them!!
It was an overall great weekend for Dad! We stopped at Frijoles on the way to Newport and it did not disappoint! It was soooo good and worth the extra drive. McKay loved the street corn…as you can see from the pic!
The last few pics were from today. The Newport ward was awesome! I was overcome with the spirit during the closing song “Hope of Israel”. The youth from the ward spoke about some camps they’d recently returned from. The words of the closing hymn just touched me because the youth are really in a battle. I was sitting between McKay and Henry and my thoughts were centered on the three of you. This week I’ve had to process some information that has saddened me and given me a glimpse into this battle that our youth face daily. I am even more ready to fight like you know what for these youth. It’s a battle and I am standing firm to help them along! I wish I could do more. You should study the words to that hymn. I know I will.
After church we visited the Newport Temple grounds and it was BEAUTIFUL! I love the pictures we took there.
We are at Raising Canes in your honor. Ummm I’m gonna give it a solid 4 on a scale from 1-10…sorry to say…not my fav.
And be proud of the ugly McKay stash. You know he’s super proud. Looks a little child predator-ish to me…
Feeling all sorts of gratitude right now. I’m happy to be removed from the busy life and friends and just have quality family time in Newport and it’s just extra awesome because we got to be together and complete for an hour with you on the phone. Thank you for lifting us and making us so happy. Your optimistic, happy nature is contagious and you spread it so freely. You’re just what the people in Lviv need! Keep spreading the sunshine and happiness of the gospel. I can’t wait to hear more next week about Elder Fetzer and your adventures together as comps in the field with Elder Orlov. I’m praying for you. I know how much I love you and that it pales I’m comparison to how much the Savior loves you and that’s incomprehensible! Make it a great week with Him buy your side!
Love you tons!
Mom ❤️🥰💗😘
