The Last May Bday - phew!
It was SO fun to talk tonight!! I know we covered a lot of things, so I’ll give you a quick picture run down from the week...
My Walden circle bday party organized by Maria Staker. Everyone asked about you and sends their love! Both Mikayla and Ally have either hit their year mark or just about...crazy!
Jane’s kindergarten teacher. Saying goodbye after testing on Monday. We loved her. Jane cried on the last day of school because she will miss her.
Field day for Gwen and her friends Stella, Berkley and Maija. She’s done with Elementary! On to DPMS!
Saying goodbye to McKay. Man...we miss him! It was SO much work getting him packed and off. He’s having a fabulous time. I’ll send an excerpt from the last insta post. It made me cry. This experience will be so good for him!
I was in charge of Jay's camera for the welcome home - tons of pressure, but whatever! So I didn’t get any good photos! Except this...the little girls were so happy to see him!
Anna has a concussion. She wore sunglasses the entire time. I’m nit going to judge and maybe this is judgy but the cause of the concussion seems very suspect. Something to do with work ???
End of the year swim party for Gwen and her friends. So fun!
We went to Red Butte Gardens for Judy Simmon’s 1st bday party. Jane hopped a ride on Lara on the way out. Poor Topher...it was serious uphill the entire way! Fun party - as usual with the Simmons! And Lara gave Jane this swim suit. She’s a very kind Aunt!
The epic omelette I made for Dad this morning. Remember the yummy Omelettes I made for you during home MTC? That was awesome...
The gathering for Tony’s treat and greet. Only pic I took #lame #notmyfathersdaughter
Fun to have Gma and Gpa Horsley for the festivities!
Cute siblings - who argue so much now that McKay’s gone...Henry just can’t leave Gwen alone!
Bench pressing Jane.
A little update on me...so my arm is healing great and feeling so much better. However, in the process, I’ve totally been using other muscles and have been in a lot of pain with pulled muscles throughout my neck, shoulder and upper back. I’ve probably let it go too long and now I’m trying to move out of the mess I’ve created. I got a massage last night and that seems to be helping. Just hoping for better days ahead.
Well, that’s a quick recap kn our week. Can’t wait to chat tomorrow!
Two quick emails I got last week about your email. The first is from Sally Linford. It’s been really rough for their family with an Aunt who passed away last night after a long battle with cancer. It’s been very emotional for sally and this was what your last email meant to her:
Wow, I really needed Calder's "awesome scripture" this morning. I just got a text from my brother, asking: "Danae would love to have this choir piece at her funeral. Can you make that happen?"
I'm so full of grief, I can hardly breathe. So it felt pretty amazing to read: "He will swallow up death in victory, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. ¶ And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
So fun to hear about his amazing mission!
And the second was from Jenny Covey Pitt my good childhood friend:
This is my favorite time of a mission—when they are so immersed in the work that they are just happy and busy and haven’t thought about themself all day! He sounds amazing!
Jenny
