New Shirt This Week?

Calderoni!!! Picture 1 & 2 = Super fun week watching Henry's play off jr jazz games! It was extra fun because we had an awesome cheering section. On Tuesday night Gma, Gpa, Hunt and me all cheered on Henry when he played insanely amazing. Super fun to have everyone there to see it. He made so many clutch shots, fierce rebounds, and buzzer beaters. The game went into overtime and Henry clinched the win the last minute. He played his heart out and was definitely the MVP. Luckily we took this team picture that night because on Wednesday night they weren't as lucky. I think Henry was tired and the team on Wednesday night were much better defenders. Henry's team just couldn't pull it out. He was very disappointed. One of the greatest parts - besides watching him play - was watching Gpa get into the game. He LOVED it! You would have been proud! And the Groovemister was at his finest. Such a good coach! I think McKay is thinking that he wants Dad to coach a team for his friends next year too. Pic 3 & 4 = McKay got his cast off on Wednesday. It was a great appointment and he's healing so well; however, the day went south by the time we got to the parking lot. I mean, I love McKay. He's such a great kid...but sometimes I want to strangle him! McKay has pretty much been in depression since the parking lot after the appointment when he got in his mind that now that his cast was off (and even though the doctor did NOT give him any reason to think this was a good idea) that McKay could ride in the True Grit race on March 12th in St George. I mean, he is signed up for the race. I was dumbfounded! I mean, he literally had surgery 8 weeks ago. One really bad thing about me and McKay is that we are both very stubborn. I don't know if you know that (hah!) And we spent the rest of the ride home at each other. He was SO mad at me and I was SO bugged with him. So, he's depressed. In a funk. Still kind of mad at me. And tonight we had another talk about where he's at and he's not in a great spot spiritually. I challenged him to take one week and read his scriptures, say his prayers and do what's right and see how he feels. He said he would. The 2nd half of junior year, 1st half of senior year and the summer in between really suck. I think he's off the True Grit crazy talk. And he got a job at Hanger 15. Not sure if that's a great place for him to work right now.... Pic 5 = comic relief. Seriously focus in on the toothbrush head on the right. That's Henry's disgusting toothbrush. Do you even think it gets his teeth clean? I don't even think the Hedgehog would like to be brushed with it! Hah! Pic 6 = 100th day of school for Jane. She was thrilled. They counted to 100. And now she knows how to count by 10s. She did get put into a special math class that started last week. Did I tell you that? And she graduated from her reading class. Baby steps. I had parent teacher conferences and her teacher is awesome. Jane has made huge improvements since the first of the school year and I think we will get there, but there's a lot of ground to cover! Gwen is doing great. I had a couple of busy days Friday and Saturday and Gwen loved all of the freedom and socializing that came with it. She's been hanging out a ton with the Warnock girls and loving it. She also had a late night with Eden and it just felt like we hardly saw her. She's a sweet girl and I am happy she has good friends and influences in her life nearby. I just need her to stop hanging out with Stella. She's like the worst friend ever. I seriously have a 6th sense for good friends. And the worst? best? part is -- I'm not afraid to share it :) Tonight we had Dave Freiss' family and Tim Freiss' family over for dinner. We are making it a tradition to watch the all star game with them. Actually, Henry was the mastermind. He really wanted to watch it and came up with this brilliant plan. Not bad if I do say so myself. It was great to be with them. They are the best! Gwen loves being with Addy, McKay loves being with Hailey and Jane loves being with Jack. We missed you! And Hailey decided to go to UVU - just in case you haven't heard the verdict. This week I have a fun "sibling ski day" planned for Tuesday with Scott in town. I am very excited. It should be a lot of fun. Unfortunately Jay cannot make it. But I think Dad is going to join us. That should be awesome. I'll let you know how it goes. We've been going back and forth on what we should do about church. Things have opened up a little where we can go every Sunday if we want to. We did it a couple of weeks ago but I just felt like something wasn't right. When I was studying CFM this week, I figured out what it was. The opportunity to have the sacrament in our home is such an amazing blessing. It's like the feeling that is in your room when we go in. You can tell that something sacred happened there. It's the same thing about the ottoman where we say family prayers and bless the sacrament. It's sacred and we need the spirit of the sacrament in our home as long as we are authorized to have that sacred ordinance done at home. I expressed my feelings to Dad and he agreed. It was awesome today. Henry's been blessing the sacrament with McKay. It's awesome to see them together. I'm so looking forward to hearing about your week. I just love Mondays! I am SOOOO grateful for the phone call. It's the best to see you. Thank you for your missionary service. Thank you for the light you bring into my life. Thank you for being someone that I can write each week and just put all my random thoughts out there and record the good, bad and ugly of family life in this crazy world we live in. Like I said to McKay, the gospel of Jesus Christ can make you happy. It can be so simple if we let it. And to look for the good fruits and follow those things. I hope those you are teaching can see those good fruits and feel the happiness enough to change. I am so grateful for my knowledge. I don't know how i would live in these rough waters without it. Keep up the IMPORTANT work you are doing. Love those people back to God. You've got this! Love you tons! MOM :)
