We Are Almost Home...

I’m writing this email from a hotel connected to the Minnesota airport. We have loved our trip to Costa Rica but it has been travel intensive!! We have our alarms set for 4:10am to get to our 6am flight home in the morning. On paper it looked tricky but doable. Tonight I’m wondering what we’re we thinking?!? šŸ˜‚ So Dad’s amazing at pictures and updates. Here’s a few that you likely didn’t get. The first three are beach fun. The fourth is henry’s bad sunburn. For some reason McKay and henry didn’t think they needed any sunscreen on day one. Dumb teenage boy decision! It was a painful mistake to say the least...especially for our fair skinned Henry!! The last seven pictures were from zip lining with henry and McKay. Dad stayed behind with the girls who would have hated it! We honestly considered everyone participating but that would have been an epic and expensive fail!! It was pretty intense zip lining and I loved it! The day was rainy and cloudy but they said it made the zip line extra fast. Maybe so. It was absolutely beautiful - zip lining through the jungle. I mean...what? A great time for sure! So, I have a plan for Christmas/New Years 2022/2023...how does Costa Rica sound?!? Ya in? I think you’d absolutely love it. It’s like Hawaii but with way more adventure. Funny side note that I KNOW Dad hasn’t mentioned. Ok, dust off your high school senior/Kiah dating/stressful/breakup time. Do you remember Dad telling you about his girlfriend Melissa and the similarities to his dating experience with her? Well, we got to the beach part of our trip (Wednesday night) which involved a lot of driving and hungry people and it was slightly overwhelming and we were tired. I went into the front desk to ask some questions and when I came out low and behold MELISSA and her family were just checking in. Haha! I was like..,oh great...now I get to hang out with Melissa in my swimsuit all week. I was seriously dreading that she was there. And we were teasing Dad endlessly. Turns out, it was actually really fun to be there with her family. They were awesome and Gwen quickly became best friends with their 11 year old daughter. We didn’t hang out all the time but we definitely overlapped on the beach with them. So, just imagine 25 years from now showing up on a family trip with your wife and 5 kids only to be there with Kiah and her family. Anyway, I’m SO excited to chat tomorrow. We will be up before you this pday! And ready to chat whenever. Love you so much. I think my favorite part of the week (aside from chatting on Monday) was the text from Nicole Langi and pics of you. I was totally taken back and it made me cry. I was missing you right then (and always). It was such a sweet moment for me. So nice of her! Anyway, love you tons! Can’t wait to hear about your week. Keep up the great work! I’m So super proud of you. Love you TONS! Mom ❤️
