What A Week!

Wow! What a week. We had a surprise visit from Tallon and Kenna on Thursday night, which was so fun. One thing that is for sure about Tallon is that he loves you. He may never write or make huge efforts but he misses you. He mentioned a guy who is going to move in once Blake leaves on his mission...I can't remember his name...but he said that he reminds Tallon of you. And he used these words "he reminds me of Calder but he will never replace Calder!" Anyway, they seemed to be doing really well. It felt like it was going to be really sad for Tallon when Kenna left. My heart kind of hurt for him to lose you, Jackson, Blake and Kenna! He didn't make any mention of serving a mission, not that I expected him to, but it will be lonely for him for sure. Tallon did tell me that Carson was the best to live with and that everyone is frustrated with Blake...surprise, surprise... Apparently Blake has a serious girlfriend. Kenna said that this girl is actually a good girl and brings out the best in Blake but that he is with her all the time. We really had a great time visiting with them. Everyone was here except McKay, who ended up seeing them on Saturday night at Disco Skating, so he was happy about that. Tonight we had a great time visiting with Kiah. You were right, she's definitely been through some tough times the past few months. One thing that is lucky for Kiah is that she has a lot of really great friends who help her along the way. Kiah is super loveable and I am so happy that she has her grandma. It sounds like she's not very welcome at home right now. Her darn step mother just sounds really difficult. I'm glad you encouraged us to reach out to her. We all felt like it was important that we did that, so thank you for pointing us in the right direction. I think everything will be ok and she seems to be in a good place but we will definitely keep in touch with her and try to help her along her way. Tonight we had a great experience at our Calder Family Christmas Party. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and everyone came who lives in Utah. What was even better was that we had a big zoom call with Mark's family in Tulsa and Scott's family in Arizona. The video that Christine put together was fantastic. She said that she was going to send it to you. Hopefully you've been able to see it at this point. And the best was visiting Aunt Janet just before the party. It was wonderful to see her. She's doing well. Clearly, she never really figured out who we were but she was sweet and she looked really good and happy. Well, I'm really excited to hear about your week and Elder Ames. Remind me to tell you the hilarious story about the Vivint repairman who was way into birds and talked to me about birds for a very long time AND showed me his wife's tic toc page of all their tricks. I'm hoping that Elder Ames isn't quite so into birds... Well, I'm so happy that we get to talk twice this week! I love you tons. Thank you for who you are. I love your friends and I'm grateful for the good influence they've had on you and on our family. It made it feel like you were here for a minute... Miss you... Love you TONS! Mom Pic 1 - our YWs activity on Wednesday night. It was SOOOOO much work AND it was Lori Paulsen's brain child that was in her brain and hardly communicated to anyone in the presidency and Lori ended up in the ER on Wednesday, leaving us a lot to pull together. It was exhausting, to say the least. I honestly spent all day Thursday recovering! Pic 2 - Visiting with Aunt Janet Pic 3 & 4 - Your table at Grandma and Grandpa's...there was an empty seat for you. You were missed.

Dear Calder.... I'm finally getting to my letter. Whoa...it's been a busy last week for me, but first....the pics: Pic #1- the newly engaged couple. We are fans of Kylie. And Eth is such a great one. I know this process has been really difficult for Chad and Cec, but she's a keeper. I think it's just tricky to pave the path and Ethan is just a bit of a spacer and so he's really put Cecily in some awkward situations. I think hearts can be healed and hurts can be mended, but it's going to take some time to let go and give it to their Savior. They will all get there. Eth and Kylie came over for hot coco before they walked to the park. I felt so honored that we were included like that. This pic was taken when they returned. So fun. So happy. I'm excited. The Wedding

Well, it happened. Ethan got married. We missed you like crazy! It was such a classic Ethan! First of all, he had a forest green suit. Kylee chose super earthy colors, so Ethan got into it and wore a super snazzy green suit. It was hilarious. The wedding started on Friday at 2pm. It was one of the best sealing ceremonies that I've ever been to. The sealer was one of our favorites that we've gotten to know through the years at the temple. The wedding was a little discombobulated though because we went to the temple, took pictures and then we had to wait until the next day at 2pm in Provo to celebrate. So, we went to Cafe Trang after the temple with our family and Gma, Gpa, Hunter and Tyler. Then they came over on Friday night. It was really nice of Tyler to come up for the wedding. When we were sitting in the temple it was so strange. I was looking around wondering where everyone was. It was just me and Dad there supporting Chad and Cec...no other family members ...

Deep In the Ice Fields of Texas!

I mean...the damage I'm seeing is for REAL! Wow! I am so excited to hear more details from you tomorrow. What a crazy turn of events in Texas. I hope you've weathered the storm and have had opportunities to serve and help those around you. As far as the Draper Horsley clan goes...everyone seems to be doing well.. McKay got his ACT score back this week. He did great and I am super proud of him. He took it without much studying. We never pulled the BYU ACT study class together and when I finally got in touch with Cara, so encouraged us to sign up for the February 6th date, even though it was just a couple of weeks away. McKay met with Cara a handful of times and got a 32. I think he feels good about it. I'll send a pic of his score breakdown. Now we just need to get him on the BYU bandwagon. He's pulling a bit of the Calder "BYU is kind of dumb" thing right now. I think he'll figure it out... Henry is keeping things upbeat and silly. He...
