Week Five Completed - High Five!

CALDERRRR! Another week down! Can't wait to hear about yours! I thought your pictures from last week were awesome...I especially liked the St George one...especially since we had just been there. Your thought about trusting Him was spot on. A great message for all of us. Here's my spiritual thought for you...D&C 123:17: 17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us acheerfully bdo all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the csalvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed. This was the scripture that Kit shared today in her testimony. I loved it. She talked about all the craziness that is going on around us and how if we "cheerfully do all things that lie in our power" then the Lord will show his arm in our life. Another great tidbit was shared in Wayne Robert's testimony. It was a clever statement: "What if you woke up today with only what you thanked God for yesterday" I love that thought - especially for this time of year. It makes me think about my prayers and if I am spending enough time in gratitude before asking for all of the help I need. I had a special experience a couple of weeks ago that I just shared with Cecily today. Her father, Grandpa Sherm, just passed his five year anniversary of dying a couple of Mondays ago. I was texting with Cecily later that evening of his death and telling her how much I loved her Dad. It was the same day that Will wrote home about Germany opening up for some missionaries from his mission. Cecily said something about how she feels her Dad closeby. I was thinking a lot about it and the thinness of the veil. I was also thinking a lot about you. It had been one of those raw Monday calls. I was thinking how excited Sherm must be on the other side that Will would be getting to Germany and thinking that he was helping move that along. As my mind thought about Sherm and my heart felt full, I had such a distinct feeling that Sherm was not only looking out for Will, but that he was watching over you. It gave me so much comfort knowing that Grandpa Sherm was with you when I couldn't be. And I really feel that to be true. So when the days are rough, look for Grandpa Sherm...and the many ancestor angels surrounding you. They are there when I can't be. Here's some pics from today. McKay was helping me with the mashed potatoes. I was missing you because I don't think I've made mashed potatoes since you left and last time you were my masher. (pic1) Henry set the table. He was SOOOO hungry that he wasn't thinking. We had 7 spots set and it made us miss you even more. The 7th spot was for you! (pic2) Can you read Jane's name tag? It says Kensie...after Kenzie Lawson. She just loves the queen SO much and wanted us to call her Kensie today. (pic 3) And the Quillow. It's made its debut and McKay is in LOVE...not sure if he loves the quiilow of hanging out with his weekend girlfriend more. He had a seriously great night when he took his quillow to the masquerade dance and cuddled with her AND the quillow...can't you even imagine?!? I'm proud of you Calder. Focus on "cheerfully doing all things" (which you are a natural at) and being grateful in your prayers. I love you so much. You were, once again, the main focus of my fast today. It sure has made us better fasters now that we are focusing the fast on you. I think everyone participated until the end, which was an hour longer because of daylight savings! Can't wait to chat and catch up tomorrow. LOVE YOU TONS! MOM
