Birthday Package???

Image
I am hoping and praying that you got your package on Friday!! I can't wait to hear all about it. It was so great talking to you on your birthday. I've been thinking so much about you and praying for you. Both Dad and I loved the opportunity to talk deeply on your birthday. We appreciate you opening up to us and letting us know some of the difficulties you've been experiencing. While I wish you didn't have to go through difficult times, I know that these are the things that help you become the disciple of Christ that He wants you to be. I came across this quote by Henry Eyring and thought I'd share it with you... "When you do your part the Lord adds His power to your efforts." I think you just keep doing your part and the Lord will continue to add His power to your efforts. I know that to be true because that's been the case for me in my life. As you already know, my experience serving in the D8th Young Women's Presidency has been parti...

Happy Birthday Week!

Dear Calder, It's your birthday week!!! I am so excited to talk to you! And to hear about your week and your new companion! I've been thinking a ton about you! I hope it's going well. Did you happen to get your birthday package yet? The week flew by as usual. It was such a highlight on Monday to talk to you at lunch with Bill and Susan. You amaze me with your spiritual gifts. What you said to Hunter was perfect! Thank you for making such an effort to help him feel loved and touched by the spirit. And it was fun to get the bonus moment! The days are getting cooler and it's making me sad to say goodbye to summer! Tuesday night we had a beautiful dinner around the pool. Some of the kids jumped in but it's about time to close the pool. Myrna had been at our house cleaning and it was nice to preserve the clean kitchen for another night and eat outside. I typically have a lengthy young women's meeting every wednesday but it was cancelled this week and I ...

Another Week Bites The Dust!

Dear Calder, I can't believe another week has come and gone! I am, as usual, so excited to hear from you tonight! In the meantime, here's a recap of my week... Monday: We returned home from Pineview, picked up Scout, unpacked and tried to settle in. So fun to go away but it takes some work to get back into the swing of things. Dad went on a mountain bike ride, which was so good for him. I took his clips last month and he went out to get news ones. I felt bad because he was itchin to go out into the mountains. Something good happens in the mountains for Horsleys. Speaking of the mountains, our hike was fabulous in Snowbasin. Everyone always drags their feet but in the end, everyone is glad they went. McKay did a massive ride up to powder mountain and then up to snowbasin. He's insane! I just hope he doesn’t train himself into a funk this week! I’m grateful for the time we spent away for the weekend. I feel more rejuvenated and ready to start the week. Tuesday: I’m not s...

Hello from Pineview

Calder!!! In an effort to be a better communicator and journaler, this week I tried to journal a little each day. Here's a rundown on my week... Monday: Henry's long awaited Adidas shoes came. Need I say more... Tuesday: today I had the opportunity to go and do Initiatories at the oquirrh mountain temple. I haven’t done initiators for 18+ months. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I absolutely love doing initiators. I was so happy to be there! Have I also told you that each week is Temple Tuesday? I’m back at the weekly attendance and it feels so good! Wednesday: I went to lunch with grandma Ann. We almost never go to lunch. It was just the two of us and it was so fun! On my way home from lunch, I bought a few things for your bday package and it made me really miss you! There’s been hard times with you being gone but I don’t think I was ready for the emotions I’d feel about not spending your bday with you! You know the birthday freak I am and it felt so sad to n...
